Privacy Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026
This policy explains what personal data CodeOps Technologies collects when you use ShotFox, why we collect it, who we share it with, and your choices. We collect as little as we can: your screenshots and projects stay in your own browser.
What stays on your device
Your projects, the screenshots and images you add, and your editor settings are saved in your browser (IndexedDB and local storage). They are not uploaded to our servers. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so export anything you want to keep.
What we collect
- Account details, if you create an account: your email address, a securely hashed password (or your Google sign-in), and, with Google, your name and profile picture.
- Subscription details, if you buy Pro: your Paddle customer and subscription IDs, plan, status and renewal dates. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage limits: a daily count of website captures for the free plan, linked to your account or, if you're not signed in, to your IP address. Counts are kept per day.
- Website captures: when you capture or live-browse a website, our servers load the address you give to produce the image. We don't keep the captured pages.
- Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and keep it secure. We use your approximate country (from your IP address) to show prices in your currency.
We don't use advertising trackers or sell your data.
Why we use it
- To provide ShotFox, your account and your Pro features (performing our contract with you).
- To process payments, prevent fraud and enforce plan limits (contract and legitimate interests).
- To answer your support and refund requests, and to send important account or billing notices.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
Who processes your data
- Paddle (paddle.com), our reseller and Merchant of Record, handles checkout, payments, invoices, tax and refunds, under Paddle's privacy policy.
- Supabase stores account and subscription records and handles sign-in.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Vercel hosts the website and runs our servers.
These providers may process data outside your country, with appropriate safeguards in place.
Cookies and storage
We use only what the service needs: a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, browser storage for your projects and settings, and Paddle's cookies during checkout. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is active and delete it when you ask us to close your account. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Daily capture counts are only useful for the day they count.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email engrshoaibh@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
ShotFox is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to account records is restricted to each signed-in user and our servers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and tell you of important changes.
